Preface
This page is to serve as a master list of the races, which can also be found as a Category Listing. For discussion of the development of individual races refer to their talk pages. Supposition of new races can be made here in the talk page and may be outright added to this page with the stipulation that they be filled out completely and immediately so that a Talk Page can begin on the new race in question. As always unique additions to the current races and for new races are welcomed.
Races
There are two classifications of Races on SH:AE. Base Races and Character Races. Each race can have an additional sub-classification known as a "Sub Race" or "Subrace", many prevalent races will have more than one. To take one of these staff consent is usually required, however they may still be taken upon character creation. Should the staff find reprehension with your choice or find that you have not justified it they will suggest a different race or that you increase your level of justification in your biography or even provide an RP Sample.
Base Races
Base Races may be taken by any new player without the need for approval of staff members or consent from creators. Subraces may require additional justification in the biography of the character, however, subraces are designed to add flavor and the staff can expected to be receptive to players seeking to play them.

Character Races & Subraces
Character Races are the races or species that player characters of SHAE have chosen to create and/or use. Many of these races are restricted or even 'unique' to individuals. Restricted races will often require the creator's consent before they may be used. Even character races that are not restricted it is unlikely that new players will be allowed them without justification (that which would be comparable to starting as a subrace).

Non-Playable Races
This is a third classification of races included in reference to non-character races and/or species unique to Non-Player Characters.
