Guild Creation

From SH Wiki

Preface

Guilds are groups of Player or Non-Player Characters who band together under one banner to pool resources and devote to a singular cause. There are several aspects to guild-life that are beneficial, however, drawbacks are included. Guilds have access to deeds, soldiers, and money collected from 'guild dues' (devoted by the soldiers granted by the deeds), as well as a unique benefit chosen by the guild during its creation process.

Creating a Guild

Creating a guild is easier than it may seem. A guild doesn't need to own territory, or even a building, though owning property has a great deal of benefits[1]. A guild, however, does require three Active members upon creation. One of them must be designated the "Guild Master" (only one member may be the Guild Master, though the title may be passed to another freely).

After the requisite three active members have been gathered, a guild name must be chosen. SH:AE Rules dictate that the guild name must be unique; using a reference to popular medium (Books, Television, Films, Et Cetera) is strictly forbidden. Potential guilds that have chosen a name that falls under this header will be forced to choose a different name.

Once the name has been chosen the Guild will need a 'blurb' for their Guild Forum and a Description for their guild on the Wiki. The members in question may add the page to the wiki if they so desire, however one must be chosen for approval before this process is allowed to take place.

If the guild so desires they may also choose a "Guild Power", or benefit endowed to all of its members. The Guild Power is subject to approval by the Administration.

All of this information should be posted in the Guild Talk Board for evaluation by the staff.

Maintaining a Guild

Maintaining a guild requires very little, the guild is granted a password protected forum, the Administrator will set and 'forget' the password (it is inaccessible to the staff after it is set and the staff will share the password with no one). Presently, SH:AE Rules require that only One guild member remain active, if the Guild Master is inactive and there are no other active users to take his or her place the guild is considered to be inactive and eligible for deletion.

The staff, however, doesn't actively enforce the rule (meaning they don't go looking to delete guilds). Although it should be considered to be in play at all times; the staff may remove your guild if there are no active members. There is a fourteen day grace period to return to activity; the staff is required to inform all guild members via E-Mail and any other contact options the player has chosen to provide. After all contact modes have been exhausted, and e-mails sent, the fourteen day period begins. At such time that this period ends the Staff will remove the guild. The guild assets are placed in "limbo" and guild posts are archived (E.G. the guild forum is set in a "read only" state).
